The sand in an hourglass marks the inexorable passage of time. It is possible to interrupt or restart this flow at any time, as many times as desired, but the gravitational inexorability of the sand will always remain the same. What is pleasure? What is boredom? What is joy? What is pain? We human beings can only travel suspended within life, searching for answers, savoring joys and pains with the freedom to choose our point of observation.
Sabbia is a first study for an interactive performance with a variable duration between 10 and 25 minutes. A system that builds loops and continuous changes in rhythm and speed, noticeable both in movement and in music. Silence, music, and voice alternate, oscillating like the pendulum of life, always in the same way, albeit with variations. The focus is on those very brief moments of pleasure and joy, moreover illusory and almost imperceptible.
Fundamental to the performance is the direct contact with the spectator, who is called to physically enter the space to experience complete freedom of choice both in their point of observation and in their positioning within the space. The performance, in fact, has neither a front nor a direction and is suitable for unconventional spaces both indoors and outdoors.
In the space, there are three artistic installations that the two performers will complete with performative and movement actions.
